New Zealand's Kauri Forests
A natural marvel and national symbol of New Zealand, the kauri tree (Agathis australis) dominate unique forest ecosystems that are currently under threat of disease, destruction, and climate change.
Studying kauri forests with remote sensing can supplement traditional field sampling in order to observe trends in kauri populations at a larger scale.
Use the navigation bar at the top of the page to learn about kauri trees, how they are threatened, and how remote sensing can be used to study these tremendous organisms.
